Biography
Contemporary realist oil painter whose work includes various subjects, including portraiture, figurative, still life, sci-fi/fantasy, and master studies. A graduate of the Evolve online art program founded by Kevin Murphy and now working as an instructor and mentor with students currently enrolled in the program. Michael has returned to his roots in Havana, Illinois, and is currently working towards building an art school in the community to make the Evolve program available locally. From a young age, Michael has always wanted to create art, finding early inspiration to draw after a childhood friend introduced him to his first comic book. Michael’s work has been exhibited locally in the Central Illinois area, including a recent show at a brand new art gallery in downtown Havana, Illinois, The Cove Center on North Plum Street. His work has also been featured virtually online, including the Richeson School of Art & Gallery.
